Safety and Precautions

  1. Use protective gloves when handling cryogenic liquids.
  2. Be sure that you've been told by someone IN CHARGE how to handle cryogenic liquids.
  3. Never power up the magnet if the He level meter (HLG200) indicates 300mm or less.
  4. Leave enough “escape room” when you are working around the cryostat in case of overpressurised cold gases.
  5. Cryostat specific: always leave the VTI valve open to the recovery line unless you are cooling down.
  6. Cryostat specific: always check that the Helim bath is connected to recovery (also check the recovery valve above the computer desk, it should be open).
  7. Always leave the Helium storage dewers open to the recovery line (otherwise they might exlpode!) unless you are filling.
