Safety and Precautions
- Use protective gloves when handling cryogenic liquids.
- Be sure that you've been told by someone IN CHARGE how to handle cryogenic liquids.
- Never power up the magnet if the He level meter (HLG200) indicates 300mm or less.
- Leave enough “escape room” when you are working around the cryostat in case of overpressurised cold gases.
- Cryostat specific: always leave the VTI valve open to the recovery line unless you are cooling down.
- Cryostat specific: always check that the Helim bath is connected to recovery (also check the recovery valve above the computer desk, it should be open).
- Always leave the Helium storage dewers open to the recovery line (otherwise they might exlpode!) unless you are filling.
